January/February 2019
Greetings from the President Claudio Riedi
Dear Friends of the GABC,
And so the holidays came and went, and all we have to show for it is a few more pounds on our waists. Or do we?

In case you have not noticed, the GABC celebrated one of its most successful holiday parties ever this year at Toscana Divino on Brickell on December 17, 2018. We thank all those who came, and for those of you who missed it, see the pictures here . We never had this many sponsors, and thanks are due to the fantastic GABC team who left no stone unturned to make this celebration a success. And the food… Divine!

But now, it is back to work. It is up to all of us to make 2019 the best business year, ever. Let’s spread the news: Florida has the second strongest job growth of any US state. It has the third-largest work force in the U.S., and is ranked fourth for high-tech jobs. And for German businesses, Florida has become the second-most popular expansion state, after New York. (source: Enterprise Florida). Thus, GABC and its members are uniquely placed for growth this coming year. Take what the GABC offers you, and become part of the German trend here.

Announcing Our New GABC Benefits Program

Dear GABC members ,

We are happy to announce our new and updated GABC benefits for members!

What is the benefits program about?
All companies/natural persons with products and/or services can offer a discount or any other kind of benefit to GABC members. It would be a non-binding agreement between the GABC and the participating companies, in which they can freely participate, and terms and conditions would be done under their own rules and regulations.

What is the duration of the program?
The program aims to be permanent in the sense of providing general benefits to all members. However, companies will commit in a freely way and can withdraw from the program on a monthly basis.

We are looking forward to hearing from you and the benefits you’ll be willing to offer to our members. With this we can start creating the benefit list to launch the program. Lastly, we understand all companies are focused on different fields and of course we know all of us can't allow benefits of the same dimension, and this is why we are open to listen and discuss about it.
Should you have any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to reach out back to us.

Kind regards,
The GABC Team

German Language Programs with the GIPA and the Miami-DateMagnet Program
APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR IN-DEMAND GERMAN LANGUAGE PROGRAMS IS JANUARY 15TH
The benefits of a bilingual education are clear. But did you know that becoming fluent in German will help your child stand out from the crowd, both in university and beyond?
Whatever your reasons for considering a language program, you’re in great company. Miami-Dade's German International Studies (begins in 1 st  grade) and International Education (begins in 6 th  grade) programs have grown by leaps and bounds since their introduction over thirty years ago. We offer rigorous German language instruction taught by native-speaking German teachers who also incorporate German cultural knowledge and traditions into the curriculum. Today, the nearly four-hundred families enrolled across our four public magnet schools hail from many nationalities and speak more native languages at home than we can keep track of. But we’re all united by our interest in giving our children the best possible education.  We also know that becoming fluent in German gives our children distinct advantages and opportunities when it comes time to apply to colleges and universities and to begin their careers.
The application deadline for all Miami-Dade magnet programs, including the German programs, is January 15, 2019 .  No prior knowledge of German is required for entry to the 1st grade International Studies program or the 6th grade International Education program, but space is limited.

To learn more about the German programs and the German International Parents Association, we encourage you to visit  www.gipa.org . The magnet application can be completed online at  www.yourchoicemiami.org

Pedro Fachetti

About Pedro
I have an interest on business, but not only to the financial part of it, but on how every single details are the difference between a good and a great company. I have many dreams, and one of them is certainly that one day I’ll be successful because of my hard and rigorous work, as I change the world to a better place with the best of my abilities.
Not only I’m passionate about finance, but I’m also fascinated by Germany and its culture, that I think everyone can learn a lot from it. German American Business Chamber of South Florida is the perfect place for me, seeing that I can have everything that I like in the same company. The emotional desire that I have with your company and my desire for learning makes everything that I ever asked for, a reality.
